Just FYI, if you would like to also send the output of ./configure to a 
file you can use a tee:

  # ./configure --with-apache --with-mysql=/usr/local/ | tee output.txt

This will still send the output to the screen, as well as put it in the
output.txt file for you too review later.

Hopefully this will make it a little easier for you to debug this stuff.
