I run my Mandrake on VMWare off a USB2 external hard drive that has 120GB of
space (enough for 20+ installs). My current environment is 3 installs of
Mandrake so that leaves over 100GB left on the drive. At work, I run Windows
2000 Advanced Server on a dual 1.2 GHz with 1.5 GB RAM.

Just don't ask me to install Debian. I tried that once, and I must say
(sorry in advance to all Debian users out there) it is the worst distro I
have ever encountered. It might be good once you get it set up, but I spent
over an hour and still didn't have a working OS (and I use to install RedHat
4.0 when there was no GUI install). They don't even include a 2.4 kernel by
default (it's still 2.2). Ugh.

What OSes are you looking to test? I will try to find some time to get them
installed.
