Hmmm, I've looked into the sources of  nice.swt
and that's the way its done there. Anyway, that
isn't the problem I think.

Well - shame on me !!! - the constructor was declaired
to be private cause it  has been called from the included
main function only. Sorry, probably information overflow  ;-)
