You probably meant "opam upgrade utop". A "pinned" package is one that you
did not install from a package repository, but from a development version
on your machine. The "update" command either refreshes the metadata of a
repository, or (for pinned packages) checks whether the development
repository has changed and rebuilds/reinstalls the corresponding package.
