About a month ago (or a little more) I received an email asking for
people interested to be Chair of the Perl Foundation Grant Committee. I
answered the email because I think I can do a little more for TPF, and
for the Perl community as a whole. To be chair of the committee would be
an interesting job, as I would be yet more aware of the news on Perl
development.

Surprisingly or not, another guy from Portugal (me) was elected for a
position at The Perl Foundation. I just hope I can do a good job.

[0]jmcada writes "WindyCity.pm and Chicago.pm are excited to announce the
2007 Chicago Perl Hackathon. This three-day event will be held at
[1]Hosteling International Chicago, which is located in downtown Chicago
at the corner of Congress and Wabash. The hackathon runs from December
14th through December 16th. If you want to stay in the hostel, a
three-night package is only $120 US... less than a single night in most
downtown hotels.

At the moment there is no topic for the hackathon, it is an open hack
session. However, there will be representatives from quite a few Perl
projects present if you are short on ideas. One of the larger projects
represented will be the Catalyst framework.

Feel free to contact Jonathan Rockway, Josh McAdams, or brian d foy for
more information."
