The [0]YAPC::NA 2008 schedule is officially posted and we have an
exciting set of talks this year. Presentations range from [1]Rakudo, the
Perl 6 compiler targeting Parrot, to [2]techniques for cleaning up your
Perl 5 code and from using Perl for [3]programming social networking
sites to [4]stopping malicious software from effecting your systems.
Between the temporary reduced rate of $85 for the three-day conference
and the exciting list of talks, how can you not [5]register for YAPC::NA
2008 today.

The Perl Review is conducting three master classes at this year's
YAPC::NA. Each class is two full days of training on the two days after
YAPC, June 19-20, from 9am to 5pm. The price for each class is $200, and
you can [0]register for the classes through The Perl Review.
* [1]Intermediate Perl, by brian d foy (Stonehenge Consulting Services)
* [1]Beginning Catalyst, by Jonathan Rockway (Stonehenge Consulting
Services)
* [2]System Administation, by Jesse Trucks (LOPSA)
Master Classes are offered especially at conferences and are cut-rate,
extremely low cost offerings of regular courses taught by training
organizations.

We're organising another Perl Mongers census this year. The last one was
in [0]2005 so it's about time. In the next few weeks all Perl Mongers
group leaders will receive an email asking them to fill in a census
return for their group.
The email will be sent to the group leaders using the email address we
have in the [1]PM group directory. And that's why I'm giving this advance
notice. If you're in a Perl Monger group then please check that the
contact details we have for your group are correct. If anything needs to
be amended then please ask your group leader to get in touch with us to
fix it.
