Tim Bunce posted to the dbi-users mailing list an [0]announcement that
begins by these touching words: "The first public release of the Perl DBI
was ten years ago, on the 12th of October 1994."

DBI is undoubtedly one of the most popular perl modules ever, and Tim
(its author) published a [1]roadmap of planned developments. Meanwhile,
the [2]Perl Foundation set up a [3]DBI Development fund for the users of
DBI to give back and ensure DBI's future enhancements -- for the next ten
years.
