I should clarify this statement: you can do this with the appropriately compiled perl and DBI modules as well. I’ve mainly had to do this when there were 32-bit apps other than perl on the system that needed to connect to Oracle, like Office ODBC and other applications. To use different bit-ness perl applications you need to maintain two separate perl stacks.
