Subject: Issue :DBD::Oracle installation

   Hi Tim

Facing an issue while installing DBD::Oracle module from CPAN.

Direct installation on server cpan DBD::Oracle is failing.

I manually tried installing the module which CPAN has downloaded, below is the log.

   ciw-app1:~/.cpan/build/DBD-Oracle-1.74-vjnZmt # perl Makefile.PL

Multiple copies of Driver.xst found in:
   /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/DBI/
   /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/DBI/ at Makefile.PL line 39

Using DBI 1.631 (for perl 5.010000 on x86_64-linux-thread-multi) installed in
   /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/DBI/

Configuring DBD::Oracle for perl 5.010000 on linux (x86_64-linux-thread-multi)

Remember to actually *READ* the README file! Especially if you have any problems.

   Installing on a linux, Ver#2.6

   Using Oracle in /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64

sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libsqlplus.so: cannot open shared object file: No such
   file or directory

If sqlplus failed due to a linker/symbol/relocation/library error or similar problem

then it's likely that you've not configured your environment correctly.

               Specifically, your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable

set to include the directory containing the Oracle libraries.

I'm having trouble finding your Oracle version number... trying harder

WARNING: I could not determine Oracle client version so I'll just

default to version 8.0.0.0. Some features of DBD::Oracle may not work.

Oracle version based logic in Makefile.PL may produce erroneous results.

You can use "perl Makefile.PL -V X.Y.Z" to specify a your client version.

   Oracle version 8.0.0.0 (8.0)

DBD::Oracle no longer supports Oracle client versions before 9.2

   Try a version before 1.25 for 9 and 1.18 for 8! at Makefile.PL line 271.

Oracle client installed on the server is 11.2 , then why the issue ?? Could you please suggest some
alternate solution /fix for the same.?

   Thanks and regards,

   Ranjitha
