DBD::SQLAnywhere SEGV when Oracle handle exists

DBD::SQLAnywhere seems to work ok for Sybase IQ, but if I first create a
DBD:Oracle handle, the SQLAnywhere connect hangs for a while, and
eventually segfaults. FYI on redhat Linux.
