It's appears to be a complete standalone DBIx module, or at least
the start of one. I'm not comfortable myself with such radical decoupling
of the statement handle from the parameters. But then again, I rarely
use bind_param, and prefer to explicitly pass items to execute(), even
if I have to occasionally bind_param to get the type correct.
