Yes, the server I was testing against to reproduce the crash does have
statement cache turned on.  However, now I come back to the same test
case a month later, it no longer produces any error.  So I'll have to
shelve investigation of this one.

Perhaps the server itself was upgraded from 12.5.1 to 12.5.3 in the
meantime or something.
