For instance I use [% and %] instead of < and > (e.g. [%rem%] and [%/rem%], and use [%=myvar%], [%IF mycondvar%], [%LOOP myloopvar%] instead of <tmpl_var name="myvar">, <tmpl_if mycondvar>, <tmpl_loop myloopvar>).
