MIME format occasional failure

I've got an extremely simple application that reads a spamtrap mailbox,
splits them into individual messages, and sends them off to SpamCop and the
Usenet group news.admin.net-abuse.sightings.

95% of the time, all is well and it works like a charm. 5% of the time,
rather than emailing off a copy, the header alone gets emailed, and the body
itself simply scrolls across the screen.

I _think_ I've got it narrowed down - it only happens in messages in MIME
format.

I'm running 2.054, and using Perl 5.8. I've looked through archives, and
haven't seen anything like this mentioned. Anyone run into something like
this before?

I've got no problem posting the script itself (other than embarrassment at
my Perl skills) because it's only 30 lines long, and test message that fails
is 50 lines. However, I'm not certain of the etiquette on this particular
list, so I thought I'd better ask first before posting any code.

Thanks much,
