->get('From') vs. ->Sender vs. From:

Can  I get some clarification/confirmation on these?

My impression ( from the documentation ) is ->get('From') and ->sender 
will/should return the envelope From value not the message body From: 
value.

And , off the top of anyones head , is there are max length for the 
envelope From value?
