If anyone is interested, Alberto and I did a live conversion of his 
Makefile.PL to Build.PL on Etherpad.

Converting from MakeMaker to MB was the easy part.  Figuring out how to get MB 
to install custom files was more difficult.  The MB cookbook has some 
conflicting/confusing instructions and you get to see a lot of fumbling as we 
try different things.  But once figured out it was fairly simple.  A lot 
simpler than the equivalent MakeMaker mess.

We stopped once it was working, there's a lot of cleanup that Alberto can do 
on his own.  In particular, using a real subclass instead of an inline one, 
and moving the calls to get the treebuilder code inside the process_tree* 
methods so they fire when the module is built and not when Build.PL runs.
