Which Linux do you use for pdf::api2?

It maybe that Ubuntu just wont work with the pdf::api2. I just did a 
fresh install of it, didn't install the Zampp stuff (apache and extras) 
and when done It reports that perl 5.8.8 is installed in Ubuntu. Then I 
did the cpan to get the latest Comress:Zlib didnt work, tried 
Bundle::Compress::Zlib - after 30 minutes it gave up. So maybe ubuntu 
is flawed. 

Which version of linux are you all using?
