ImageMagick and PDF::API2

Before I install ImageMagick on my server, has anyone ever used it to 
create image files from pages created using the PDF::API2? If not, 
maybe you have a different way of creating individual images from the 
pdf pages created using PDF::API2? I basically want/need to create 
thumbnails of the pages after I create the pdf so a user can see what 
the pdf looks like without having to open / look at the pdf. This needs 
to be done automatically, no user input.
