Thanks fredo, that did the trick!  CVS code behaves as I expected it to.  
Tried it with both the test code from my first email (still get that error 
about calling outobj on an undef value - any idea why??), and the production 
code - both now produce the pages in the expected order.

I guess we can expect another release soon then? ;-)
