Well you could reach out to the owner of that module, see if maybe they are
interested in having you take over ownership of it! Have you looked over
the code to it? It's just a dozen or so lines of code - all the real work
is done in Text::Markdown. Of course, that module has the same problem -
version 1.0.31 released 7 years ago, so it may need a new maintainer as
well.
