The C underlying library from http://www.imagemagick.org/ and the 
command-line tool 'convert' do it, yes. But AFAIK it requires 
GhostScript. I'm not familiar with the Perl-bindings, so I don't 
know if this functionality is supported, but I don't see a reason 
why it wouldn't be. I guess you'll have to try and see.
