getOpenFile - problem with list of files to choose from

A customer has been upgraded so that the site uses Perl 5.8.7.
Previously the site has been running with 5.8.0 without finding this
problem outlined below.
 
A problem has now been found that when using the getOpenFile dialog not
all the available files are not shown in the window.  At the site this
problem is only found when trying to get a file that is on another PC.
There does not seem to be a problem when getting a file on the PC
running the application.  Is there a way of ensuring all the available
files are shown?
