Which OS? - "on another PC" for Winwows is VERY different to Unix-y systems.

For windows it would mean that \\AnotherPC\SomeShare\whatwever 
was misbehaving - for UNIX it would suggest that soft links were 
being ignored or perhaps automounts not being triggered.
