about Perl/tk and shells

Hello guys,
i have a question about if it is possible to open a perl(pdl or other) 
shell inside some widget in Perl/tk.
I am making PDL program and creating GUI around it with Perl/Tk but 
would like to make a window or TAB in the GUI in which the pld shell can 
be running for the user to give own pdl commands.
I think i had seen something like this once upon a time but may be my 
memory is wrong.

I would appreciate any help on the subject.
