Yes, that could be. In fact there are mre bugs with updates, but
I cannot give you the example as it is really big and needs a full
TeX Live installation (I am programming the front end for the
TeX Live Manager).

Yes, I have expierenced that, too. I suppose that the destroying of
items plays a role here.

Anyway, I have no moved to HList which in most parts work much better
and does not crash at all.
