Agreed, Tk is quite recent on CTAN, compared to Tkx > Some of us missed the Tkx wagon I don't see much to be missed here - having the need to have Tcl/Tk installed on all deployment machines is not really a big plus. I am using Perl/TK for the GUI of the TeX Live Manager and I don't see how I can reasonably get Tcl/TK also installed on 15+ supported platforms/arch combinations.
