	Exactly.  One can never have too many tools. :-)

	Aaah, yes.  Encoding was a huge pain in the behind at the time. 
Dominique Quatravaux -- another XPS maintainer -- attacked the problem 
and improved the situation.  He documented the whole thing in the 
module's pod  under a section called, quite appropriately, "The Unicode 
Mess".

That's one of the aspects of XPS that I dread re-tackling, but with a 
little luck Perl 5.8 encoding support will indeed help make it much less 
of a quagmire. *cross fingers*
