Re: Perl XML::Parser failing tests

As the original poster, let me answer for posterity.

 SOAP::WDSL or SOAP::Lite  was the driver for XML::Parser.  The need
for SOAP::Lite came from a vendors Perl library to access their SOAP
API.

Great things can be accomplished by standing on the shoulders of
giants.  In this case I found myself staring at the giant's dirty toe
nails.

Just installing the module,  ignoring the puking from the module's
tests, was a reasonable workaround.  It may eventually bite me, but
for now it is working.

Thanks for all the discussion.  Not sure I understood it all.
