It's possible that it might not expose everything that libxml2 does but it's stable. At least, I've used it in production and haven't seen it keel over. Yep, seems like a relict, fixed in the SVN. There may be more glitches like this in the documentation; any help improving it is welcome; you may either file bugs, send patches (but please note that the POD files are generated from a DocBook file docs/libxml.dbk) or add annotations via AnnoCPAN (I try to reflect useful annotations in the documentation).
