Thanks, Justin. I tried this.

LIB=C:\progra~2\MICROS~1.0\vc\lib;C:\progra~2\micros~3\windows\v7.0a\lib;C:\Opt\libxml2\lib

INCLUDE=C:\progra~2\MICROS~1.0\vc\include;C:\progra~2\micros~3\windows\v7.0a\include;C:\Opt\libxml2\include

Same error. This isn't the problem.

These paths are set up by the Microsoft vsvars32 script, and I think it does get it right.

The libxml2 paths themselves don't contain spaces anyway.
