"Special" isn't clarifying that much either. Are there more examples
on how it will differ from the regular method? Also, is there a also
lowercase counterpart?

Some name suggestions:

 - upper_case_transform()
 - upper_case_expand()
 - upper_case_substitution()

(If the string may be shortened as well the 2nd one above isn't a good
candidate.)
