New 7.8 (stable) beta

I'm pleased to announce a new beta release of Pike 7.8 (stable). Please 
refer to the change log for a summary of the fixes and changes present in 
this build:

I'm working on getting a Windows build prepared, however it might be a few 
days before that's ready (assuming no one else gets it done first). If all 
goes well and we don't hear of any major problems, we'll promote this 
build to "official release" after a few weeks.

NOTE: If you are compiling with a relatively recent GCC (4.2+ at least), 
you'll need to disable machine code in order to get a working build:

make CONFIGUREARGS="--without-machine-code"

Please report back if you experience any problems building or using this 
release. As always, questions, comments and suggestions are welcome!
