vote on := for assignments and in expressions

The vote for a symbol choice was a decisive victory for " := ".  The final
vote count was 3 in favor and 2 against in the issue of using assignments in
expressions if we use the same := for assignments everywhere (I didn't
vote).  After the discussion I realized that I would not support assignments
as expressions at all without using the same := for all assignments
everywhere since people like Paul would use only := anyway.

Since using := for assignment everywhere was not a choice in the original
voting, I want to start a new vote on that issue.  Please vote FOR or
AGAINST changing the symbol = to := for the assignment statement and
allowing it to be used in expressions also.
