You make find this strange, but I am voting AGAINST this.  Now that the
proposal has turned into changing assignment everywhere including function
definitions and calls, I feel it is too much change for such a small need.
So unless there is a clear strong vote for it, which there wasn't last vote,
this is a dead issue.
