Mark, What about wiki page for the above? I thought the discussion was interesting - it might help in negating the need for classes. http://prothon.org/wiki?pagename=DesignByContractTypeInterfaces I've not thought it through thoroughly yet but it may well be that interfaces is what we could use to implement design by contract.
