This distinction between lists at tuples exists merely by convention,
and even then it's not consistently used. While you do have a point, I
don't think it's quite important enough to keep around an extra type,
let alone extra syntax. What's more, the tuple syntax is not always
the most obvious to newbies, but that's a fairly minor point.
