One of the attractions of Python has been that it was really open source. No restrictions not hobbled like GPL. IMHO, It would really be a minus relative to Python if Prothon started down the GPL path. This whole .Net thing also seems to be something the Windows guys are attracted to but makes the other platforms second class citizens. Mono is still relatively immature and its only Linux not OS X. Which is close but not the same. > It's open-source, and GPL. Which means you also have to be GPL in order > to use it. Just like you can't use GPL in closed source apps, same goes > with Qt, except that Trolltech will let you pay to do so (while most > GPL > stuff wont let you pay). > > -- > Debian - http://www.debian.org/ > Linux 1394 - http://www.linux1394.org/ > Subversion - http://subversion.tigris.org/ > WatchGuard - http://www.watchguard.com/ > > _______________________________________________ > Prothon-user mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.prothon.org/mailman/listinfo/prothon-user >
