Picture.Open too slow

Hi all,

Is there a way (special coding, MBS plugin, other ...) to accelerate 
Picture.Open, which is very slow on my Mac (Intel i7, OS 10.13.4, 16 Go 
RAM)?

It takes about 6s reading 6 JPeg file of 2.2, 16.9, 8.6, 13.6, 12.7 and 
12.5 Mo.
