errors during compiling sather 1.3b 7

Dear Sather support

I would like know if You can help me because I had some problems during
the
compilation of the sources of  the sather 1.3 beta7 where  I obtained these
errors messages from gcc:

Consider that I use Linux Fedora Core 1 on Athlon700 Mhz and I set
correctly the environment variables SATHER_ENV and SATHER_HOME but SATHER_LANG
that is it_IT.UTF-8
These are the actions that I've executed to compile:
I untarred the sources
I entered in the SATHER_HOME directory and then I
executed:
./configure linux
make

What I forget to do ?
Could You say to me the step by step process of the compilation of the sources,
please ?
I saw that the garbage collector of Boehm is now the version 6.3 could I
use this version rather the version 4.1.4 ?
