This fix is in 2.12 now. Just a footnote to say how nice it is to work with 
the Scala team. They always say thanks for the PR and never make you feel 
stupid for submitting a trivial fix.

It would be nice if the folks who raised issues also expressed appreciation 
for a quick turnaround from the community. That really greases the wheels.
