GSOC query

Hello,

I am a 3rd year student in B.Tech interested in working under Scala Team in 
GSOC.

I have read on GSOC website that we can work on any project as long as they 
are written in Scala. 

I have earlier used Play Framework  and interested in writing  a module for 
the framework. Does this count as a proper GSOC project idea?
