The Wizard, Welcome Window, and Objectland Starter only materialize on first startup. If you save those, the .image will grow.

Subject: [squeak-dev] Why does Squeak 6.1 image grow by 5+ Mb simply as a result of starting a clean rc3 and saving it?

Start an rc3 image.
Skip the wizard
Saveas {new name}
Rc image -> 47.9Mb
Saved image -> 54.0 Mb

Close the welcome window, purge undo records, garbage collect a couple of times, save, 52.3Mb. That doesn’t seem quite right.

Are we expanding a load of bitmaps and not (re)compressing them before saving? Importing a load of stuff on the quiet?
