I had started to port the various .asm files -- the assembly is not the problem, I am well versed in assembly -- the problem is not having an equivalent to a macro assembler (such as Turbo Assembler or MASM) on Linux ... :( -- I have starting looking into how the existing assembly files are used towards the ends you have suggested; but have not made much progress in that space (specifically determining how they are used for the 'hotspot' approach). I do agree we should use the VM where possible ... -- dave On 4/11/07, prunedtree <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Did you port it already ? if you haven't, i can help you remove all > dependencies on inline/external assembly. > After all we have a macro assembler in the VM, so we should use it > (that's what hotspot does too btw) > > I'll start by getting rid of the COFF files for the win32 build.
