Well... to me, Squeak is not a "project", is more like a product with
an active lifecycle than a project.
On the other side Strongtalk IS a project.

Because, from my POV, building an Smalltalk system such as Dolphin
requires a lot more money than that.
And not only money, it also requires time to develop, and time to test
it. Dolphin is already built, and well. Anything plus $230K nobody
knows.
Today you can develop with confidence using Dolphin, its tools are
proven to work by a lot of developers, and have a maturity that few
Smalltalks Dialects have.

And you get a working product ready to use commercialy, with an active
user base.
If you ever used Dolphin you must know how well crafted internally
(and visually) it is.

For the Windows world of developers, Dolphin is the best entry point
for Smalltalk. Which will also helps the entire
Smalltalk community.
Today it is windows only, but if it is open source, many developers
will be able to port it.
Dolphin needs the support of the community to be open source, if we
reach that point, good things will happen.
