To be sure.  Capitalism isn't the end all and be all.  Any system taken to the extreme can't work and a monopoly is the most obvious, destructive effect of unbounded capitalism.

Though I would like to hear what you mean about copyright being a monopoly.  Certainly how copyrights are done seems flawed, but it seems that software makers should have the same rights as other producers.  People who make, e.g. cabinets can protect their products by having them under physical control.  I think people who produce media should have this as well somehow (though monopolies like exist in the entertainment industry should be aggressively broken down).

That may be, but open source didn't get very far before capitalism came in and made it big. :)
