RE: is there a plug and play dark skin for VW9.1 apps

K, interesting , thanks, to do this properly i.e. in a manner that comes close enough to what is achievable otherwise in other UI technologies , a dark theme also will care about widget borders etc, so perhaps the 9.1. skins are fine grained enough for that. 

 

We are still on 7.5, the dark option is part of the larger migration effort contemplated to get to 9.x

No, that doesn’t mean “no”.

 

It means:

“Dear customer how much is the value for your customers to have a dark skin option compared to the other requirements they have?”

“We will need to estimate the effort for implementing such an option.”

“The effort assessment will last x days and will cost you (x * dayrate) $s.”

“Once we have that data you are free to decide what you want most.”

 

Given that you can define the background, foreground, selection background, selection foreground colours individually for a window, an application wide solution should not be too hard. You may also look at the implementations of the various “default” skins.

Anything that I can just grab and turn on ? as is possible with most UI frameworks nowadays?

We are getting complaints from customers who want this yesterday and want us to spend no time on it because they have a ton of other stuff they also want.
