I just published a first work in progress version of Emulated-Dark-Skin.

A few notes.

This version is build for VW9.1.1 no other versions are tested. From what I see the Skinning framework continuous to evolve and you likely run into problems if you try to run this in any other version.

For the moment all the basic elements of the GUI are normally done but as they have quite some aspects I might missed out on some, please be so kind as to indicate them to me while I am at this. Also if you want things improved please send me precise pictures so I can compare and modify.

I created a new Editor Themes to go with the skin called Default Dark for the normal editor and Default Dark JS for the Javascript editor. Color contrast issues were checked using the Adobe contrast analyzer <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://color.adobe.com/create/color-contrast-analyzer__;!!DZ3fjg!9oFzQfIkTMc80Wnos_ziyOZtowA2r3eDaJEYZlQ0HYCkd2bLBq0KfB3hM3vAsFv_qGKlsGXjVaEkbsU9ERvN09D_EDCJtDuoXOoK$ >. 

Notice that many colors including red are not readable on a dark background which means I had to comprise on things we are used to see in red (overrides etc), and the contrast constraint also makes it complicated to use the them colours of the operating system as available on Mac so for the moment they are neglected.

As for the development tools many things are done but not all, notably missing is the editor search box, the Store publishing dialog and a few others.

As the dev tools are not really designed with dark skinning in mind I had to create a series of overrides to get over that. Things could be made simpler by using more symbolic paints but I got a bit puzzled what preferred method VW is heading towards as you can you the use of Symbolic paints per skin on return from snapshot as well is simple colour definitions in the skin. Any explanation is welcome here.

I hope this Skin merits some existence, in the next version I’ll try to get things cleaned up and I’ll integrate your requests for improvement if reasonable 😊
