[VWNC] Postgres socket API question

The class PostgresSocketConnection has a comment that: "I was designed to work
with the 9.* Postgres socket API and later (but have been observed to work
with 8.* and as far back as 7.4.4). "

Have anybody tried to implement he PostgreSQL protocol 3.0 drivers for the
External Database Interface (EXDI) API in VW version 7.10.1 or VW 8.0?

Can you share What your experiences were?
