I agree with John.

Also, I would hope (and expect) that the existing Win32 port should
work more or less out of the box.

This being said, our Win32 port does need a lot of work to give it
more of a "native" Windows feel.  What we do at the moment is
just the bare minimum to have *something* working.  There are also
important outstanding bugs such as the Control-C problem (stdIn
closing on Control-C for some reason) that we have not been able
to track down.

So, Dan, if you want to look more deeply into the Win32 port, more
power to you!
