Re: very elusive ml-build issue

Kinda drowning here... I've narrowed it down at least this far: the 
problem is happening during the execution of

     bin/.run/run.x86-cygwin @SMLboot=nnnnn-BOOTLIST @SMLheap=sml

which is supposed to create the heapfile, but it sometimes doesn't. I've 
tried narrowing down what conditions affect the problem. It actually 
seems to be independent of whether it's compiled with backtraces or not 
(sometimes works with, sometimes not; sometimes works without, sometimes 
not). I would send code to demonstrate, but I can't reproduce it 
anywhere except in the context of our entire library.

Sigh.
